On Jan. 9 registered voters in Heavener will vote on whether to continue a half cent sales tax. This is not a new tax and if approved the sales tax will remain at 10 percent. When the tax was first approved in 2007, it built the new library, got lights for Blues Park and put in new storm sirens. The majority of the funding if the tax is continued will be for street and alleys. Do you favor keeping the tax or removing it?
